How accurate is NIPT?
NIPT has very high detection rates for Down’s syndrome and other common trisomies. However, it is still a screening test and a high‑chance result should be confirmed with diagnostic testing.
Is the blood sample safe for my baby?
Yes. NIPT uses a maternal blood sample and does not affect the pregnancy

When can I take the test?
From around 10 weeks of pregnancy because fetal DNA levels before that are too low for reliable analysis. Some NIPTs that we offer at Jeen are able to start screening from 9 weeks of pregnancy.

The NHS offers NIPT to some high‑risk pregnancies as part of its screening programme. Private NIPT services like Jeen Health are available to anyone wanting additional reassurance.
Will I learn the baby’s sex?
Sex chromosome analysis and fetal sex prediction are optional. We can include this information if you choose.
